Tabriz, Iran, is renowned for producing some of the finest Persian rugs, distinguished by their "Raj" numbers, which indicate knot density. The higher the Raj number, the finer and more intricate the rug. Tabriz rugs come in both average (40 Raj) and exceptionally fine (80 Raj) varieties.

Crafted from a blend of cork wool and pure silk (90% Cork wool, 10% Silk), these rugs embody luxury. Pure silk, known for its unparalleled combination of fineness and durability, complements the durability and soft sheen of cork wool, sourced from the sheep's neck area. With proper care, these rugs can withstand daily stress and maintain their quality for decades.

Being hand-knotted, Tabriz rugs adhere to the traditional method, representing the pinnacle of quality among rug types. The knot density plays a crucial role, allowing for intricate patterns and detailed ornaments. While finer rugs demand higher manual effort and skill, the knot density serves as a value factor, though not a direct indicator of quality – a coarse rug may still exhibit excellent craftsmanship.

Note: Small stein on one corner visible on the photos pointed to. Priced half of the rugs market price for that reason.

All of our hand-knotted rugs are professionally washed and treated. All rugs are individually inspected before leaving our warehouse.
